Anthony is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners – expert in will and trust drafting, estate and trust administration and accounting. He holds personal finance qualifications and his wide-ranging commercial experience includes a decade as MD of Hine Downing Financial Services, board membership of Hawksmoor Investment Management and governance in the not-for-profit sector.

As head of our commercial law department, John has spent many years successfully acting for clients from a wide range of business sectors. He specialises in business leases, sales, acquisitions and property development. As a keen sailor he also has a sound knowledge of maritime affairs, which has proved invaluable for many of our local clients.

William has a wealth of experience and expertise in the management and distribution of deceased clients’ estates and the preparation of wills. He also specialises in the protection of vulnerable elderly clients through the creation and supervision of lasting powers of attorney. William is often appointed by the Court of Protection as a Deputy for clients who have lost mental capacity. He acts as an Attorney for many people and is is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

Diana is a commercial and residential property specialist working within the Commercial and Residential team to meet the growing demand for property services. She has over 20 years of experience in this area of law – covering all facets of commercial and residential property from acquisitions and disposals to landlord and tenant and property development. Diana practised in London and Exeter before returning to Cornwall.

Peter is a highly-skilled solicitor with a detailed understanding of the local residential property market and a broad experience in handling transactions of all sizes. He is also a strong advocate of information technology, keeping the firm at the forefront of developments which complement and support Hine Downing’s traditional personal service.

For over twenty years Kerys has specialised in all aspects of this intricate and sensitive field of law. She is a member of “Resolution” – the recognised voice of conciliatory and constructive family law.

Angelo is an experienced solicitor who practises in a wide range of litigation, with over 25 years’ experience. He was brought up, educated and trained as a solicitor in Falmouth. Angelo provides pragmatic and cost-effective advice of high quality, which he delivers in an approachable style. His specialism is in disputed probate, wills, inheritances and trusts. He is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Association of Contested Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and has the STEP Advanced Certificate in Trust Disputes. He also does a lot of work for residential landlords and work relating to rights of way and boundary issues.

John has been dealing with property transactions for over 25 years.

He handles all aspects of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgaging and equity release loans. He also handles development site acquisition and disposal transactions.

Louise is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX) and brings to the Conveyancing team a 30-year-strong track record in residential legal work across Cornwall. She handles all aspects of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgaging and the transfer of properties as part of matrimonial proceedings.

Donna has been with Hine Downing’s Conveyancing team for twenty-four years and has trained and worked her way through from legal secretary to Paralegal to Conveyancing Executive. Knowing all aspects of the work from grassroots up she is involved in sales, purchases and remortgages as well as transfers of property as part of the administration of Estates.

Kim specialises in commercial and residential property transactions. She advises on a range of issues including property sales, purchases, re-mortgaging and property advice in connection with the administration of estates or matrimonial proceedings.

Maddi is an experienced solicitor in our Commercial Property Department, having rejoined the firm in 2023.

Hannah is a Chartered Legal Executive specialising in the drafting and preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, the registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney and the administration of estates. She has worked in the legal sector for over 20 years and joined Hine Downing in 2019.

Teresa joined Hine Downing in 2017 and is an experienced member of our Private Clients team.

Having previously worked across Cornwall in this area of law, Teresa brings a wealth of experience to our team. She specialises in the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection applications and the administration of Probate estates to include both taxable and non-taxable estates. Teresa also advises on tax planning.

Teresa spent many years in the Devon and Cornwall Police Special Constabulary and has a wide experience of helping people in many ways and walks of life.

Alisa has recently relocated to Cornwall, recognising it to be the perfect setting to raise her two toddlers.

Amelia is an apprentice solicitor and splits her working week between the family law and private client departments.

Amelia graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Law in 2023.

Ricardo has been providing hugs and cuddles at Hine Downing since 2022, but frankly, that’s all he brings to the business. He sleeps 8 hours a day and to our reckoning has never lifted a finger to help those around him when we are busy. At his age, we had expected more from him…….. But he is cute, so we keep him around.
